For the Chalk Pastel Self Portrait I enjoyed the medium and the idea of using warm colors to show highlights and cool colors for shadows. The hair was my favorite part. To begin with I mapped out my colors on the printed out image of myself. Then on mat board that was 12" x 16" i drew the outlines of my face. I started off with the hair then worked my way down the picture. Teeth. Teeth are not an easy thing to draw nor color. My teeth and my eyes ruined the picture to me, because I struggled with them. Even though I struggled, I didn't give up. I still finished the picture. I made the background blue to make the blue in my hair and eyes pop more.
